Cypress:  Organic Cupressus sempervirens (Family, Cupressaceae)  Spain.

This a soothing oil that eases aches & pains & coughs. With its smoky woody fragrance it refreshes, restores and tones.  An astringent oil useful for refreshing & caring for oily & blemished skin.  As an antiperspirant it is good for sweaty feet.  Massage on abdomen during menstruation & where there is cellulite.  It is also a good menopausal oil and natural deodorant.

Eucalyptus:  Organic Eucalyptus globulus (Family, Myrtaceae)  China

This is a fresh and stimulating oil with a penetrating scent and antiseptic properties.  It is widely used as a component of preparations for relieving congestion and muscle aches.  A powerful antiseptic, used in baths and for massage during the cold season.  Blend the oil in chest rubs & use in a vaporizer to keep air germ free in sick rooms.

Geranium:  Organic Pelargonium graveolens.  (Family, Geraniaceae)  Egypt

Geranium has a wonderful green, flowery aroma and is both uplifting & calming.  It exerts a
'balancing' effect on skin and is therefore useful for all skin types.  It has often been used to ease the effect of PMS.  A fresh, floral & sweet smelling oil, it relaxes, restores & maintains stability of the emotions.  An astringent Oil excellent for all skin types.  Used in skin care products for both its fragrance & cleansing properties.  It is also a useful insect repellent.   Geranium is excellent for a massage where there is cellulite and is used for treating eczema and psoriasis.

Juniper Berry:  Organic Juniperus communis.  (Family, Cupressaceae)  Croatia

An oil with astringent, antiseptic & detoxifying properties, Juniper is said to exert a cleansing effect on the mental & spiritual planes as well as on the physical.  It has a clean, mildly penetrating, woody scent and has a cleansing effect on the body.  Juniper is used in many masculine perfumes,
aftershaves and colognes. It  has a calming effect on the emotions and  is reputed to strengthen the immune system.  ***Warning****  Juniper should not be used when pregnant.

Lavandin:  Organic Lavandula Hybrida grosso, L.fragrans, L.hortensis
                        (Family,   Lamiaceae)  France

Lavandin is a hybrid plant, a cross between true lavender & spike lavender.   It is used in many types of perfumes,  soaps, detergents, room sprays, hair preparations, and is used as a flavor ingredient in a lot of food categories.

Blends well with Cypress, Clove, Citronella, Cinnamon leaf, Bay leaf, Geranium, Pine, Thyme
and Patchouli.

Our organic Lavender Provence is simply the finest organic lavender available!  With a great aroma, Lavender Provence is the most versatile of essential oils.  It is relaxing & refreshing, uplifts the spirits, and helps to relieve the distress of muscle pain.  Balances your body & mind, calms or stimulates, according to your body's needs.  Excellent for refreshing tired muscles, feet and head.  Treats burns and reduces scarring.  It can be used in small amounts on burns, but care needs to be taken and if the burn is serious contact your physician.   Add a drop of Lavender Provence to your pillow or sheet for a peaceful sleep.  No home should be without this Lavender Provence!!

Lemon:  Organic Citrus limonum (Family, Rutaceae) Italy

Lemon has a fresh, citrus scent that is revitalizing and uplifting.  It has antibacterial & tonic properties, making it useful for relief of cold symptoms.  Widely used in beauty care, it cleanses, refreshes cools & stimulates.  An astringent & antiseptic oil, it is useful for oily skin and can be used to lighten dull, stained hands or to tone & condition nails & cuticles. 
*****Warning******Do not use Lemon on the skin or in a bath for 12 hours prior to sun or sunlamp exposure.

Mandarin,Red:  Organic Citrus reticulata Blanco v. "Mandarin, C. Noblis
                                 (Family, Rutaceae)  Italy

A gentle and calming oil, it is known in France as 'the children's remedy' for its mildness.
Children, almost universally, like this oil, probably because its aroma might be reminiscent of sweets.  It soothes restlessness, especially in hyperactive children and is considered a safe children's remedy for indigestion, hiccoughs, etc.  Mandarin is a useful antispasmodic for cardiovascular, digestive and respiratory systems.  It calms the activity of the sympathetic nervous system and is recommended in synergistic combinations with other citrus oils.
Mandarin is used in soaps, cosmetics & colognes.  And, Like Lavender, can be used in massage oil to help prevent stretch marks. 
****Warning**** Do not use Mandarin on skin exposed to direct sunlight.

Marjoram, Sweet:  Organic Origanum majorana, Majoram hortensis, (Sweet),
                                      (Family, Lamiaceae [Labiatae]
                                        Egypt.

This is a calming, soothing oil that has a warming effect on both mind & body.  It helps to relieve the miseries of the common cold, including congestion & muscle aches & pains, & is also comforting in times of stress.  It has a warm, woody odor with spicy undertones.  Useful on tired muscles & for massaging on abdomen during menstruation.  Used to regulate the nervous system & treat insomnia.  Add to an after-sports rub and use in a hot bath, especially blended with Lavender.
**Warning** Do not use during pregnancy.  Use sparingly and with care due to its
sedative action.  Use caution if you have asthma.

Blends well with Cedarwood, Chamomile,Cypress, Lavender, Mandarin, Orange, Nutmeg, Rosemary, Ylang Ylang, Eucalyptus, Thyme.

Orange, Sweet:  Organic Citrus sinensis (Family, Rutaceae) Brazil

With a rich, fresh citrus scent,  essential oil of Orange lifts the spirits yet is calming to the nerves.
Blend with spicy oils for a 'cheering' bath and add to massage oils for the digestive system.  It is Antidepressant, Anti-inflammatory, Antiseptic, Bactericidal, Carminative, Choleretic, Digestive, Fungicidal, Hypotensive, Sedative (nervous), Stimulant (digestive & lymphatic), Stomachic, Tonic. 
Sweet Orange peel tincture is used to flavor pharmaceuticals.   Is extensively used as a fragrance component in soaps, detergents, cosmetics & perfumes, and in the food & drinks industry. 
***Warning***  Distilled orange oil is phototoxic.  Do not use on the skin or in baths 12 hours prior to sun or sunlamp exposure.

Blends well with  Orange blossom, Lemon, Clary sage, Petigrain, Neroli, Lemon, Lavender, Myrrh, & some spice oils such as Nutmeg, Cinnamon & Clove

Peppermint:  Organic Mentha piperita (Family, Lamiaceae [Labiatae]

Peppermint is an energizing oil with a penetrating, minty aroma.  It helps to relieve fatigue & muscle pain.  Use it in the daytimes, as its energizing effect may keep you awake at night.  Excellent for refreshing tired head & feet.    It is useful for Neuralgia, muscular pain, palpitations, cold, flu, headache, mental fatigue, migraine, nervous stress & virtigo, just to mention a few.
**Warning**  Some Aromatherapists warn not to use Peppermint if pregnant. May cause sensitization in some individuals.  Menthol is a dermal irritant.

 Blends well with Benzoin, Rosemary, Lavender, Marjoram, Lemon, Eucalyptus, Geranium, Sandalwood

Spearmint:  Organic Mentha spicata, M.viridis (Family, Lamiaceae[Labiatae]) USA

The properties of Spearmint oil resemble those of Peppermint but its effects are less powerful.
Energizing to the mind and body you can use it in bathwater for its refreshing effect.  It has been used for Acne, dermatitis, asthma, bronchitis, sinusitis, nausea, vomiting, colic.  Also for colds, flu, fatigue, headache, migraine and stress.  You can make a facial steam of Spearmint oil in a pot of boiling water to help cleanse & refine pores.  It is used as a fragrance component in soaps & colognes and as a flavor ingredient in a wide range of products, including toothpaste, chewing gum and soft drinks.
****Just to be on the safe side I always use 1/2 of the recommended dilution, and sometimes even less****

Blends well with  Lavender, Lavandin, Jasmine, Bergamot, Eucalyptus, Basil, Rosemary, Sandalwood and is often combined with peppermint.

Tea Tree:  Organic Melaleuca alternifolia, M. linariifolia, M.uncintata
                     (Family, Myrtaceae)  Australia

A powerful antiseptic, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, bactericidal, balsamic, diaphoretic, expectorant.  It is good for acne, athlete's foot, blisters, burns, cold sores, warts, burns, herpes, insect bites, oily skin, infected wounds and much more.  Useful for vaporizing to kill germs and as a cleansing agent for the skin.  It has a wide range of uses and research is finding more uses all the time.
**Warning** Tea Tree may cause irritation to sensitive skin.

Blends well with Lavandin, Lavender, Clary sage, Rosemary, Cananga, Geranium, Marjoram, Clove, Nutmeg and Cananga.

Avocado Oil:  Organic Persea americana, P.gratissima Caertn.
                              
 Family Lauraceae -Unrefined-USA

Used as an addition to other base oils, 10% to 25%.  Good for eczema and dry, dehydrated skin.  Not a nut oil.

 

Calendula:  Organic Calendula officinalis.  (Family Asterceae) (Compositae)  U.K.

This oil has an anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmodic, vulnerary (aiding healing of wounds) effect and is very useful in its own right.  The addition of essential oils enhance the effects of the oils together.  Infused in Sweet Almond Oil.

 

Safflower Oil:  Organic Carthamus tinctorius  USA

This is a wonderful carrier/base oil.  It's nearly clear, has a great 'glide' that massage therapists really like.  It's not greasy feeling, it absorbs well & washes out of sheets easily.  Plus....it is very gentle to the skin.  So gentle it's used in children's products.

 

Sesame Oil:  Organic Sesamum indicum (Family Pedaliaceae) USA
                          Expressed/Seed. 

Used as 10% addition to base oils.  Can aid in treatment of psoriasis, eczema, rheumatism and arthritis.

 

Sesame Unrefined Oil:  Organic Sesamum indicum  (Family Pedaliaceae) USA
                                                Expressed/Seed

Used as 10% addition to base oils.  Can aide in treatment of psoriasis, eczema, rheumatism, and arthritis.

 

Soybean Oil:  Organic Glycine Soja USA  Expressed
